8 city products accredited with Davao Branding System

EIGHT products of Davao City, ranging from floriculture, nursery, to processed foods now bear the seal of excellence of the Davao Branding System, which aims to institutionalize a local branding for Davao products that are of exceptional quality.

These products are produced by Edesy Marketing, which processes shredded fish on Km. 11, Sasa; the Porky Best Products which processes pork chicharon on Bayanihan St., Matina; and the Eagle Multi-Purpose Cooperative which produces special bijon in Bago Aplaya for the processed foods.

For the floriculture, Sul Orchids Farm on Km. 18 in Tugbok; Himmels Blumen (The Garden of Eve) at Juna Subdivision in Matina; the Chua's Orchid Garden in Mintal; and the Puentespina Orchids and Tropical Plants in Malagos, Baguio District, while for the nursery, the Emmanual S. Belviz Fruit Nursery in Wangan, Calinan, were also among those who were awarded with the seal of excellence.

The small and medium enterprise center of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. said these products have passed the accreditation criteria formulated by the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture, and by the SME Center.

Davao Branding System's goal is to create a strong identity and market presence for local products, continues to seek products, be it food or non-food, which are developed by local entrepreneurs. (JGRS)
