AMA Computer College dumps STI Davao in Gaisano Cup

ERNESTO Tabaniag sparked AMA Computer College's 106-49 routing against STI Davao in the 5th Gaisano South (GS) Cup basketball tournament at the GS Citimall SkyGym Sunday.

Tabaniag drilled 34 points, made two assists, and grabbed two steals and two rebounds to be hailed best player of the game.

AMA improved its record to four wins and one loss while STI dropped to 0-5 in college division 2.

In girls event, Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Smad) thrashed Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) B, 66-28, with Desiree Jeanille Abella leading the charge.

Abella was named best player after with 25 points, six steals, two rebounds and two blocks to her credit.

SMAD grabbed its fourth win in five starts while AdDU B had only one win so far in five outings in the BAP/SBP-sanctioned cagefest.

Assumption College of Davao took its seventh straight win in junior division 2 by whipping Thompson Christian School, 117-49, while AdDU beat SMAD, 98-47, to claim its fifth win.

ACD's James Brian Lauganas (34 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals) and Paolo Angelo Dailisan (10 points, six assists, four steals, four rebounds) were best players of their respective games.

The tournament will resume on Thursday. (MLSA)
