ARNOLD Ang and Genie Ablanque pocketed titles at the close of the 1st Davao Class B Open Table Tennis Tournament at the Davao Wisdom Academy recently.

Ang of the Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta) beat Zoren Patrick Mendiola, Alex Ang, and Philip Belderol who placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the class A singles event.

The Davao City bet Ablanque bested rivals Arnulfo Reosora, Michael Quevido of Makilala, North Cotabato, and Albert Larios of Kidapawan City for the class B singles crown.

In the class B team event, Medatta emerged champion through the efforts of Quevido and Ablanque.

The University of Southern Mindanao Team B's Gerald Galindez, Arresteo Olivar, and Michael Agudo grabbed the runner-up honors while Telof Table Tennis Club (Tetatec) 2 of Wilbert Lim, Jose Mari Gentica, and Wenceslao Ocampo came third.

Team Gensan occupied the fourth spot with Benjie and Kevin Hilado and Teddy Pagunsan on its cast.

Cash prizes were awarded to the winners of the meet with lawyer Jose Vicente Ventosa III as tournament chairman.

A total of 20 teams competed in the tournament. There were 55 players in the class B and 16 in the class A category. (MLSA)
