POLICE filed attempted murder charges against two men accused of trying to kill their neighbor in Roseville subdivision in Buhangin, Davao City in July.
The suspects identified as Mauricio Ongod and Allan Recona were charged based on the complaint filed by the victim, Joel Calumpang Flores.
In his affidavit, Flores said that on the evening of July 20, he was driving his motorcycle with his wife and passed by the main road of their subdivision. His neighbors, who were having a drinking spree, shouted at them.
He said that after his wife alighted at their house, he returned with his brother and cousin and noticed that the neighbors had already left.
He said that when they were on their way home, the men threw stones at them.
He also said that their neighbors, later identified as the suspects approached them armed with steel pipes.
He said they were attacked by the suspects and hit with the steel pipes. The respondents also threw beer bottles and stones at him.
He said their neighbors stopped upon seeing the approaching policemen.
