The remains are believed to be that of victims of the New People's Army's "kangaroo court."
The police are still expecting to dig up some more remains.
According to the testimonies of former rebels, at least 60 to 70 persons were buried at Sitio Landig in Barangay Sinoron, Sta. Cruz. In this unmarked graveyard are rebel members slain in military clashes and those killed during the purging of alleged deep penetration agents of the government during the mid-1980's.
The locations of the graves were identified by former members of the rebel group who directly took part in the burial process.
Exhumation by members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and pathologists is still ongoing.
