Bankerohan bridge finally awarded to winning bidder
By Ben O. Tesiorna

CONSTRUCTION of the new Gov. Generoso I bridge in Bankerohan, Davao City will hopefully start soon after the Department of Public Works and Highways awarded the project to a bidder who offered the lowest project cost.

Reports reaching Sun.Star Davao showed there were six final bidders for the project. The bidding was conducted Tuesday afternoon.

Of the six bidders, the Ciriaco Corporation reportedly won the bid with the amount of P206,648,492.58.

Other bidders for the project were ABC with a bid of P207,438,925.76; Grace Construction with P207,419,838.40; VT Lao Construction with P207,300,493.96; CM Pancho with P207,401,150.08; and the late bidder that was disqualified was Advance Foundation.

The much-delayed start of the construction of the bridge made Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte lose his cool. He warned that if the construction will still not start by December, the City Government would take over the project.
