Ombud has yet to receive complaint from mayor
By Carlo P. Mallo

THE Office of the Ombudsman in Mindanao has yet to receive a complaint from Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on his allegations that a congressman of Davao City has been allocating funds for what is perceived to be ghost projects.

Duterte alleged in his weekly Sunday program "Gikan sa Masa Para sa Masa" that Davao City Representative Prospero "Boy" Nograles has put up ghost projects in areas outside his district. The mayor specifically mentioned an alleged farm-to-market road project of Nograles in Agusan del Sur.

In an interview with Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao Humphrey Monteroso, he said that if the mayor would substantiate such allegations and lodge a complaint before their office, they would take appropriate action against Nograles.

Further, Duterte added that if the projects of Nograles outside his district are not ghost projects, then it must be one of his stints in preparation for what the mayor said was a bid for a senatorial post in 2010.

The mayor and the congressman have brought their squabble on live national television last Tuesday wherein the mayor was suddenly cut off air due to the use of explicit words.
