Agilas dealt another loss By Marianne Saberon-Abalayan
THE Duterte Agilas were soaring high early in the game. Then, they took a nosedive and, suddenly, it all came apart for the Davao dribblers.
The host Agilas, with their defense collapsing and key players making costly errors down the stretch, suffered a heartbreaking 80-91 defeat at the hands of the visiting MP Warriors-GenSan in the Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association (MVBA) Second Conference Tuesday night at the Almendras Gym.

The Agilas, mentored by Rhoel Josol, grabbed an early lead, 21-17, in the first canto highlighted by back-to-back-to-back treys of Dave Sagad, Arturo Atablanco and Bob Cozy Ilanga.
But the Warriors of Manny Pacquaio started to rally in the second period behind Jejomar Rubi, who fired a three-pointer followed up by Apol Coronado's explosive 13 points that included two perimeter baskets and another trey by Roderick Ramos to snatch a 42-35 edge at halftime.
With the Warriors ahead by 26 points with 5:05 left in the final quarter, 80-54, the Goldstar Hardware-backed Agilas staged a searing rally with Boboy Berami, Ilanga, Greggy Delica and Fred Sampilo to cut the Warriors' lead, 76-85, barely a minute left in the ballgame.
Coach Pido called for time and when action resumed, Warriors Rubi, Miller Dennison and Louie Medalla took charge despite the efforts of Agilas player Delica to score.
Coronado led the Warriors with 19 points while Rolly Menor and Erian Daja added 12 and 10, respectively.
