Thursday, November 15, 2007 Davao booters nip Camarines in POF finals
DERRICO Gabriel Diamante hit Davao City's only goal in the 32nd minute to give his team a 1-0 win over Camarines Norte in the 2nd Philippine Olympic Festival football tournament at the Philsports Complex Wednesday.
The Davao U-15 team now totes a 2-0, win-loss card following the 3-0 rousing win over Negros Occidental in the opener.
The Dabawenyos will next battle Muntinlupa at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
In U-17, Davao lost to Iloilo City, 1-4, to drop its record to one-win and one-loss in Group A.
Davao scored on Roelfred Napuran's goal in the 46th minute while Iloilo's Jesus Joaquin Meliza sizzled with a hattrick in the 12th, 87th and 88th. Meliza's teammate added one goal to complete the win.
But Davao's team recovered with an easy win after its rival San Juan withdrew. (MLSA)
