THE Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) 1st Open Golf Tournament will get underway on December 9 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf & Country Club.
Dr. Ana Moscoso said the event is a fund-raising tournament that will benefit "our adopted community at the New S.I.R. Phase 2 where malnourished children are being taken cared of."
Moscoso, who guested at the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn Thursday, said they wish to equip the Wellness Center located also at S.I.R. basic laboratory machines for diabetes screening, urinalysis and blood pressure taking.
"We expect some 200 participants to play. We encourage golfers to join. They will not just enjoy the golf but also get to help a community. Freebies await registered players like golf shoe bags, umbrellas and medicines, among others," Moscoso said.
"There will also be free medical screenings for the participants," she added.
Registration fee is P2,500 inclusive of mulligan.
Emcor will give away a motorcycle as hole-in-one prize while an anonymous donor will donate a TV set. (MLSA)
