ORGANIZERS of the Mindanao Ceelin Inter-School Swimming Championships said the two-day swimfest, which was set to open Saturday at the Woodridge Park & Country Club, was reset to December 7 and 8 instead due to the storm that hit some parts of the country.
Event director Darren Evangelista said, "We have decided to postpone it in December since our technical officials and sponsors from Manila couldn't make it today (Saturday) due to the storm."
He said they have already informed participants and coaches of registered teams about the new schedule.
A total of 140 entries have signed up for the meet including those coming from Sarangani, Polomolok, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Tagum, Panabo, and Davao City, among others.
The top three tankers in every event will win gold, silver and bronze medals while the fourth and fifth finishers will get ribbons.
The top teams based on points will receive trophies and most outstanding swimmers in every age category will also claim special prizes from the tournament backed up by Ascorbic Ceelin, McDonald's and Holiday Gym and Spa. (MLSA)
