The two members surrendered without their firearms.

One member, identified as a certain Reynaldo Obias Delgado--resident of Nabunturan in the province of Compostela Valley, surrendered last November 20.

According to military intelligence reports, Delgado was the political instructor and finance logistics officer of the Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda 2 of the Front Committee 33 of the rebel group.

The other member has been identified as a certain Acwa Yabe, a 19-year-old member of the Segunda Squad still of the Front Committee 33 of the rebel group, surrendered last November 21.

It was learned that Yabe was a resident of the municipality of Montevista, Compostela Valley.

The two former rebel members were included in the Order of Battle for the second quarter of 2007.

Colonel Emmiliano Gupana, commander of Task Force Raptor, said that as more rebels surrender, the rural areas will become a more secured environment conducive to economic development.

Gupana mainly attributed the surrenders to his men in the field. (CPM)
