By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

THE City Prosecutor’s Office charged a 50-year-old man accused of raping his 10-year-old daughter in their house in Calinan, Davao City in December last year.

Charged was Gary (complete name withheld to protect the victim) after City Prosecutor Minerva Pepino-Estremos found probable cause to hold him for court trial based on the complaint of Jane (not her real name).

In her affidavit, Jane said sometime in June to December 2006, her father molested her by inserting his finger into her sex organ every time her mother was not home.

She said she just had the courage to reveal the incident when her two sisters sought the assistance of the City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) saying they too have been molested.

She said they were brought by CSSDO employees to the Calinan police thus, the filing of the case.

Estremos recommended a bailbond of P200,000 for the respondent's temporary liberty.
