Castañeda was a taxi driver of Maligaya Taxi plying the Davao City route.

Based on investigations conducted by PO2 Michael Uyanguren of the Sta. Ana police station, the victim was found dead at around 5 a.m. Wednesday inside the taxicab he was driving parked in front of Baptist Church.

Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) and policemen who responded to the scene said the victim was already dead when they arrived.

Authorities believe the victim succumbed to a still undetermined ailment since no wound or bruise was found in his body. Police also ruled out foul play.

One Louie Troncoso, also a taxi driver, told the police that the victim sent him a text message at around 4 a.m. telling him he was not feeling well.

The body of the victim was brought to the Angel Funeral Parlor for autopsy to determine the cause of his death. (RCO)
