Friday, December 07, 2007 DIDP to hold 2-day exhibit, food sampling
THE Davao Integrated Development Program (DIDP) will be holding a two-day project showcase and exhibit, featuring its Integrated Food Security Program (IFSP), on December 10 to 11 at Ballroom C, Davao Convention and Trade Center, on F. Torres Street, Davao City.
DIDP is a joint collaboration of the various provinces and cities in the Davao region, whose board is currently chaired by Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario, with Davao City Administrator Wendel Avisado, as its executive director.
Organized by the Jonallier Events Planning and Management, the project will showcase booth presentations of all provinces and cities in the region.
It will highlight existing DIDP IFSP projects and a mini-food bazaar. It will also provide a food sampling of the different food processing establishments and food technology demonstrations utilizing locally available materials.
Demonstrations on the making of coconut beef balls and coconut sauce by the Philippine Coconut Authority will be on December 10 at 1:30 to 5 p.m.
The making of seaweed pickles and rellenong bangus by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-XI) follows. There will also be a demonstration on the making of mango leather, ice cream and handicrafts from corn hearts. This will be done by the Department of Agriculture-XI.
Various products of organizations under the Agro-Processing Promotion Project will also be featured: banana chips, sinamak, vinegar, peanut butter, dried mango, mango puree, salsa almarilla, and bellchara. There will also be chicharon, tocino, chorizo and BBQ. Sweets such as durian jam, durian pastilles, durian yema, buffalo fresh milk, ice cream, choco milk, pastilles de leche, white cheese, milk-o-jel and mozzarella cheese are sure to delight visitors as well. There will also be pancit canton, fresh miki with squash, muscovado sugar, nata de coco, kaong, macapuno, among other goodies.
