NCCC Cares, the corporate foundation of the New City Commercial Center Group of Companies, is celebrating its third anniversary with weeklong festivities, starting on December 9 until December 16, at the Surico parking area of NCCC Mall Davao.
With the theme "Merry Caresmas: 3 Years of Sharing, Extending and Caring," the celebration features an exhibit and photo display of its programs and projects, with a bazaar and food expo, a wall climb adventure area and nightly live band performances.
A motorcade joined by partner companies, national government agencies, non-government organizations, with associates from NCCC and NCCC Cares, kicked off the event.
Even before that, residents from Barangay Matina Crossing and Ma-a received free medical consultations and medicines during NCCC Cares' annual free clinic on December 1 at NCCC Mall Davao.
Most children seen by NCCC's company doctors suffered from cough, colds and, a few, have cases of asthma. Adult patients, 40 and above, had free FBS (fasting blood sugar) screening, with most diagnosed with diabetes and hypertension.
Patients swelled to 400 by noontime that registration, which started at 9 a.m., was closed by noon. The free clinic, scheduled to end by 2 p.m., extended until 3:30 p.m. to accommodate registered patient.
HB1 provided the medicines that were given away together with Pharex, and United Laboratories, makers of RiteMed. Aside from multivitamins for children and adults, medicines for cough, colds and antibiotics were also given to patients after their doctor's check-up.
NCCC Cares' fund raising concert, "Christmas with the Champions 2," brings back Jed Madela, Rachelle Ann Go, and Sheryn Regis. This time, Jonalyn Viray, Mark Bautista, Gerald Santos, and Christian Bautista joins in. Show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 14, at the 4th Level, Exhibition Center, NCCC Mall Davao.
