Blue Knights rule Gaisano South Cup
THE Ateneo de Davao Blue Knights defeated Agro Industrial Foundation College, 62-69, to bag the College Division 1 title of the 5th Gaisano South Cup Sunday.
Richard Madelo led Blue Knights with 16 points and four rebounds to emerge the finals' Most Valuable Player (MVP). Madelo also had two assists as the Blue Knights won the series, 2-1.

Miguel Solitaria and Conrado Fernando added 11 points apiece for Ateneo. Obed Batoy led Agro with a game-high 22 points.
The Blue Knights, under coach Elegino Cholo, trailed after the first quarter, 11-16, but pulled ahead by four, 32-28, at the half. From there, it was Ateneo all the way, although the Sailors managed to keep the game close.
Ateneo won Game 1, 78-64, but Agro took the next game at 92-90 to arrange the rubber match in the best-of-three championship series.
Ateneo made it a double kill when it also won the Cadet Category after beating Holy Child School of Davao, 75-60, in the finals.
Paulo Dailisan spearheaded Ateneo's triumphant campaign with 17 points, six steals, two rebounds, and two assists.
The GS Cup is sanctioned by BAP-SBP and sponsored by Rexona, Axe and Milo Sunsport.
