Fagioli invades Davao
By Marissa Ann S. Te Eng Fo

JOSIE G. Ang had called me about the opening of a very topnotch coffee place next to Kia Motors. She is a friend of the owners and when she mentioned the name of the coffee club, it was really ear catching: Fagioli.

I was quite curious so I went on a detour before joining my media friends since it was also the night of the Sun.Star Christmas party.

Post your comments here on the Makati siege

Fagioli is a very popular coffee club in GenSan owned by two lovely maidens and a gentleman, Christine and Joyce and Oscar Rebosura, and duly supported in other facets of running a business by the other members of the family--Vic, Raul and Baby Sofia.

The cheesecake offerings made me think of world famous New York cheesecake. Then the choco-shaped coffee bean garnish and chocolate covered green grapes came along with those yummy sweets to my surprise.

Cafe Americano (no frills) is still a personal favorite as too much sweeteners takes away the very essence of true coffee. Fagioli does it with a five-star rating from me.

Another surprise is that they have a working vintage telephone. Now that's what I call a real coffee table conversation piece in all its glory.

The Ferrari of coffee machine (Rancillo) in all its efficiency is a resident of this coffee club. I heard it is the only one this side of Asia. My hats off!

No brownie points solicited here but Mayor Rody Duterte still tops my list, suave in singing that romantic song.

Good food, good company, good music. My day fulfilled!
