MILF saber-rustling once more in website
By Ben O. Tesiorna

SOME commanders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) are floating the possibility of another war breakout as a result of the alleged reneging by the Philippine government of the agreement over the issue on territory.

In a report at www.luwaran.com, several MILF commanders reportedly wanted to "hit back at the government" for "betraying" the MILF on the consensus points of the ancestral domain aspect of the Tripoli Agreement of 2001.

Several commanders were allegedly displeased over the peace talks especially the hardliner commanders.

"One commander in Basilan, who requested anonymity, told Luwaran that if it were not obligatory in Islam to follow the leaders, he would defy the decision to hold talks with the government and hit back at government forces straying into their bailiwicks. Another one in Maguindanao, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, protested bitterly the latest government insincerity by saying, "Do we allow ourselves to be fooled forever?"

MILF chair Al Haj Murad Ebrahim however appealed to the Bangsamoro people to be patient and steadfast in whatever adversary facing them. He reminded them that Allah helps those who are patient and forbearing.

He also reminded them that when one is faced with a difficult situation, always remember Allah, seek His guidance, and look back on the achievements they have collectively worked for.

"The road to freedom is always full of twists and turns and to overcome, we must work, persist, and sacrifice," said the MILF leader.
