'Threat' on broadcaster's life not linked to Lintuan
By Carlo P. Mallo

THE reported threats on the life of broadcaster Lucio Ceniza may not have any link to the killing of fellow broadcaster Fernando "Batman" Lintuan.

Ceniza, who can be a prime witness, suddenly fled after the murder of Lintuan last December 24. Ceniza and another broadcaster, Edgar Banzon, were with Lintuan inside the latter's vehicle when the murder happened.

In an interview with Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Southern Mindanao chief Benhur Mongao, he said the threat could not have been related to the motive in the killing of Lintuan since the gunman should have just killed Ceniza as well when he shot Lintuan on the morning of December 24. Ceniza survived the attack, unscathed.

One of the angles being looked upon by Mongao on the threats that Ceniza has been reportedly receiving is the communist rebels that he have strongly criticized in his radio program.

The case of Lintuan still remains to be unresolved and cloaked in mystery. A suspect, believed to be the gunman, was apprehended last Friday, December 28.

Lintuan was buried last Sunday, December 30.
