Superbull cage crown

THE Vetmedix team led by manager Dr. Jun Cardona whipped Promac, 73-64, in the finals to rule the 10th Superbull Basketball Tournament last December 22 at the Ladislawa Gym in Buhangin.

Playing coach Bing Fernandez and assistant coach Carl Baguhin also spearhead Vetmedix.

The champion team received P5,000 and a Superbull championship trophy.

Barangay Ginebra beat Riken, 86-71, for third place honors.

Both Vetmedix and Promac reached the finals after beating twice separate opponents in the semifinals.

Lito Allawan poured in 19 points in a balance Vetmedix attack in the championship match and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Raul Torralba added 14 points, Eddie de Guzman had 12, Krenz Lu made 10 and Jong Peñaflor, who was adjudged the most improved player, had seven.

Rey Fernandez top scored for Promac with 20 points. Also giving him scoring support were Lloyd Luage (13), PJ Monfort (8) and Ogie Calio (8).

After the championship game, the Superbull Club held its Christmas party at the Cabaña, Ladislawa Country Club with 2007 officers led by president Bing Fernandez, vice president Larry Lu, treasurer Dave Unlay, secretary Manny Noel and PRO Eugene Sy in attendance.
