JUDO and football will be included in the roster of events in the 2008 Davao City Private Schools Athletic Association (DC-Prisaa) Meet set on Feb. 15 to 18.
DC Prisaa athletic manager Joaquin "Boy" Sarabia said the two events will be competed up to the national level.
"This is welcome news since football will be included in the nationals after five years of not making it," Sarabia said during the regular Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum Thursday at the Tower Inn.
Sarabia said a total of 14 events are entered in the DC-Prisaa Meet, with basketball and volleyball having advance games starting on January 26 and 27.
"There will be four teams seeing action in football in the coming city meet. Not all 13 DC Prisaa member schools will field entry in the event," he said.
Sarabia said top qualifiers in the city-wide eliminations will advance to the regional meet set in the second week of March enroute to the National Finals on April 7 to 13 in Zamboanga City.
"We really want to improve our finish in the national finals having been beaten by a total of 14 gold medals last year. We've been second over-all for the past five years," he said.
Sarabia said they will also hold a joint DC Prisaa and Davao Region Prissa board meeting on Wednesday, January 16, in Digos City to finalize details of the two meets. (With Candice Dominique Sayson and Mae Ann Catherine A. Daragon-AdDU Interns)
