Friday, January 18, 2008 Sun 'invades' Davao By Nelson C. Bagaforo
IF YOU based it on the number of attendees at Sun Cellular's "party assault" at Matina Town Square on Saturday night, Sun has indeed invaded this southern part of the country.
Hundreds of the network's subscribers trooped to the party venue, their spirits never dampened by the heavy downpour that never stopped that night.
It was a night of fun with exciting activities participated in by those from the audience.
As heavy rains continued to pour outside The Tent of MTS, it was also raining freebies and fabulous prizes inside the venue as two of the country's top bands -- Brownman Revival and True Faith -- perform their hit songs in the explosive event that was part of Sun Cellular's The Nationwide Invasion, which was launched in 2006.
Sun Cellular, which claimed to be the only network that offers the best services at the best value, has every reason to celebrate -- with its growing subscribers and an increased network capacity in Davao City.
The "invasion" started with a motorcade around the city's main thoroughfares with True Faith and Brownman Revival. After which, the two bands made a round of the city's top FM stations to promote the event and their latest albums.
Subscribers were then treated to exciting activities like parlor games, bingo sessions, and videoke contests for a chance to win premium items and other Sun freebies.
Starting at 8 p.m., all roads led to the MTS as performers take the concert stage to groove and party with Sun subscribers.
Brownman Revival was a hit among young Dabawenyos. The band performed their hits songs, including the most applauded "Lintik" and the revival of Apo Hiking's hit "Binibini."
The Davao Sun Invasion highlights Sun Cellular's increased signal reach, proving that with the network that lets you call as much as you text -- the fun never stops wherever you are!
As part of its commitment to give the best services to the market, Sun is set to spend another P11 billion in 2008 which will be allocated to boosting its coverage and adding more cell sites so subscribers can continue to enjoy calling and texting anytime, anywhere, 24/7.
