Sara appeals for respect on dad's move to quit RPOC
By Ben O. Tesiorna

DAVAO City Vice Mayor Sara Duterte appealed to the public to respect the decision of her father, City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, to resign as head of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC).

"We should respect his decision for whatever reasons. Undangan na nato siya sa isyu labot sa RPOC (lets stop involving him on issues concerning RPOC)," the acting mayor said in Sunday's "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa."

Governors Arturo Uy and Douglas Cagas said they would now leave everything to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for the appointment of a new RPOC chair.

Earlier, the RPOC passed a resolution asking Arroyo to reappoint the city mayor as the council's chair.

Uy and Cagas also appealed to Mayor Duterte to reconsider his earlier decision to resign as RPOC chair.

Uy said they have no other choice but to wait for the decision of Malacañang as to who would replace him a RPOC chair.

"We still have no alternative choice to replace Duterte but possibly it will be a governor. Cagas maybe since he already expressed his interest on the position," Uy said.
