Maguindanao police said the victims were on board the company vehicle and were to deliver Nestle products in Mamasapano at around 2 p.m. on Sunday when armed men blocked their way.

The suspects, according to police, were led by a certain Kumander Musa Awab of the MILF's 105th base command.

Police said the victims were forcibly brought to an MILF camp in Barangay Tatapan, of the same town.

Senior Superintendent Adam Piang, provincial police chief, said the victims were suspected to be military assets by the top officials of the MILF in Maguindanao.

Members of the Philippine government-MILF Ceasefire Committee along with the International Monitoring Team are now working for the release of the victims who are still held captive by suspects. (Edgardo Fuerzas)
