THE Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) men's and women's teams beat their respective rivals in the resumption of the Davao City Prisaa Meet volleyball competition at the Brokenshire College gym Sunday.
The Ateneo Blue Knight men spikers spanked San Pedro College (SPC), 25-11, 25-20 while the Ateneo volleybelles whipped Brokenshire, 25-12, 25-19, in the Davao Amateur Volleyball Association (Dava)-sanctioned meet.
In another men's match, DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP) walloped Davao Doctors College, 25-15, 25-15.
The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) lady spikers crushed University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), 25-10, 25-8, while the University of Mindanao (UM) women's team scored a twin kill. UM routed DDC, 25-15, 25-13, then thrashed Brokenshire, 25-8, 25-6.
The SPC volleybelles survived a 15-25, 25-23, 29-27 victory over UIC.
During last Saturday's opener, UIC stunned defending men's champion UM, 23-25, 31-29, 27-25, while Holy Cross got off to a rousing start in the distaff side with a 25-15, 25-9 whipping of UIC.
The meet will serve as the selection basis for the city's delegation to the Davao Region Prisaa Championship slated in the second week of March.
Games will resume on Saturday at the same venue where the winners will advance to the regional meet in March.
Other DC Prisaa Meet sports events will be played on February 15 to 16.
Only volleyball and basketball were played in advance due to the big number of teams entered.
