AFP snipes at NPA for civilian attacks
By Carlo P. Mallo

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) criticized the attacks perpetuated by the rebel group, the New People's Army (NPA), against the civilians, especially those in the hinterland areas.

"Baluktot na ang pag-iisip nila," Major General Ernesto Boac, commanding general of the 10th Infantry Division said in an interview Monday.

Post here your Valentine's Day greetings

Boac said the rebel group continues to claim to be for the masses, when in truth it has been the one preying on the vulnerability of the masses.

"They extort and conduct other similar acts against the people," Boa added, "and these are poor people."

Apart from attacking civilians, Boac also berated the attacks perpetrated by the rebel group on businesses, farms, industries, and infrastructure provided by the government to hasten development in the countryside.

"They do not want development," Boac said.

"If they are really for the good of the people, why are they hindering the development of the countryside?" he added.
