Tuesday, February 12, 2008 Lozada's testimony to trigger another people power: Guv By Ben O. Tesiorna
DAVAO del Sur Governor Douglas Ra Cagas feared that the accusations of latest National Broadband Network (NBN) deal star witness Rodolfo Lozada would cause the public to hold another people power.
In an interview in Mati City Sunday, Cagas admitted that Lozada's statements has weight and might stir the people's sentiments against the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Though Lozada's accusations could be a ground for another impeachment case to be filed against President Arroyo, Cagas said it would be almost impossible for the impeachment to progress in Congress considering the number of administration congressmen in the Lower House.
"But what I am afraid of is that it will be the basis of another people power," Cagas said.
Asked where he would be if another people power happens, Cagas said he will be in Malacañang defending the President.
