Mati not keen in hosting MF Games

CITY OF MATI, Davao Oriental -- Davao Regional Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2008 host Mati City is not keen on hosting another edition of the Mindanao Friendship Games that it hosted in 2003.

"We haven't thought about it yet. The MFG is a very big undertaking and it would take a lot of things to consider," Mati Mayor Michelle Rabat said.

Post here your Valentine's Day greetings

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) recently bared that the fourth staging of the Games will be revived on November 29 to December 5 in Tubod, Lanao del Norte -- the inaugural host in 2001.

"We might host an MFG in the future, but not now or next year. But when the need arises, why not, if it's for Mindanao?" Rabat said.

She recalled that Tagum have been given the MFG hosting rights after Mati hosted in 2001 where Davao City emerged as over-all champion. (MLSA)
