'Dodong Panacan' wins 10-ball title in QC
DAVAO City cue master Leonardo "Dodong Panacan" Didal beat Lawrence Anthony Aguilar, 9-5, to pocket the Star Billiards 10-Ball Tournament second edition title at the just-concluded Star Billiards Center in Grace Village, Quezon City.
Didal, who finished runner-up to 2006 SMB Philippine 9-Ball Open Champion Francisco "Django" Bustamante, took the first rack before Aguillar grabbed a commanding 5-1 lead of the winner's break format cuefest.
But Dabawenyo ace came back strong by winning eight straight racks to bag the P20,000 cash prize.
He earlier eliminated Jimmy Deauna, 8-4, in their semi-finals match.
Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines (BSCP) treasurer, and Brunswick Billiards Table local distributor Sebastian "Baste" Chua backed up the event where the top four winners also received trophies. (MLSA)
