THE University of Mindanao (UM) and Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) won the men's and women's crowns, respectively, at the just-concluded DC-Prisaa Meet table tennis competition held at UM Matina campus.
UM, coached by Antonino Magallen, bested the Arnold Lampara-coached Brokenshire in men's finals through the efforts of Jeofrey Sajol, Philip Belderol, Richard Indino, and Wilbert Lim.
Brokenshire instead took the runner-up spot while Davao Doctors College placed third and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) was fourth.
In the distaff side, HCDC downed Ateneo for the title in the two-day Davao City Private Schools Athletic Association table tennis event.
RP junior player Jacquline Caragao powered HCDC's team of coach Dr. Louie Metran, who is also president of the Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta). Caragao got help from Debby Kate Mascarado, former Palarong Pambansa medallist Mirabel Roferos, and Evelyn Nemeño to secure the win. (MLSA)
