Trailing Executives rule 14th Season

THE Executives clawed back from one game down and won the next two games to wrap up the 14th season, four games to three, against the Legislators in the 2008 Executive-Legislative Basketball Tournament, Friday night, at the Davao City Recreation Center.

City Sports Coordinator Christopher "Bong" Go, who fired nine straight points in Game 6 that hurt their rivals, was on fire again by sinking 25 points to lead the Executives to victory.

Jem Brian Alquizar helped a lot with 25 baskets, Roy Bangkas added 19, and Melchor Gadiano contributed 14 points to disappoint the Legislative team again.

The Legislators were ahead, 3-2, in the series, but lost their momentum when the Executives edged them, 119-118, in double overtime of Game 6.

They could not rub off the loss in the last game that the Executives immediately took the lead and never looked back.

Jilliard de Guzman led the Legislators with 24 points.

The scores:

Executives (104)- B. Go 25, Alquizar 25, Bangkas 19, Gadiano 14, Labor 13, Bonleon 5, Caminade 0, Escorido 0.

Legislators (93)- de Guzman 24, Villaver 19, Reyes 19, Casado 12, Plarisan 6, Bredol 4, Aguilar 4, Acero 2, Abellera 2, Araneta 1.
