Tuesday, March 04, 2008 Royal Mandaya gets new management By Carlo P. Mallo
THE Royal Mandaya Hotel announced last Friday that it would be changing management to raise the bar in the standard of tourism in Davao City.
From the Davao Security and Investigation Agency (Dasia), the management of the hotel was transferred to Banig Management Service Inc., a company with nationwide scope.
One of the reasons cited by Dasia is its lack of experience and expertise in handling the management of the hotel. "It decided to tap Banig to manage the hotel and bring it at par with international standards," a statement from the Royal Mandaya Hotel said.
Also, the hotel has a new resident manager in the person of Fernando "Danny" Aquino. Aquino has had at least 30 years of experience in hotel and restaurant management both here in the country and abroad.
Aquino is also an educator of the Sea Tech Maritime Training Center -- Hotel and Restaurant Division from 2001 until now.
With the change in management and Aquino as the new resident manager, the Royal Mandaya Hotel is confident that it will soar to greater heights in the years to come.
