Belo Medical to establish branch in Davao
By Joy Romares-Sevilla

AN OFFICER of the Intelligent Skin Care Inc., an affiliate consumer company of the Belo Medical Group, claimed that the Belo Medical Group is planning to expand in Davao City this year.

Martin Joquiño II, distributor manager of the Intelligent Skin Care Inc., said in Tuesday's Business Forum at the Medispa at SM Davao, that the company believes Davao City has a promising market based on the consumers' response to the Belo Essentials products, which include whitening soap, facial wash, and lotion.

"Aside from the Greater Manila Area (GMA) and Luzon, we are introducing Belo products in the Visayas and in Mindanao. We also want to cater to the mass people, pag sinabi mo kasing Belo, iisipin agad na pang artista lang," Joquiño said.

He said the company also realized that the number of beauty conscious people is increasing in the Mindanao area.

Although Mindanao shares only three percent of the Belo's market, Joquiño said they are optimistic that the number will increase.

"GMA has the biggest market share with 75 percent, followed by Luzon with 25 percent, Mindanao with three percent, and Visayas with two percent," he said.

Joquiño added that Dra. Vicki Belo has started to create the affiliate company last year. He said Belo has considered Mindanao to be a potential market since the latter has permanent clients from Mindanao particularly from Davao, Tagum City, and General Santos City.

"I understand that Dra. Belo has a client from a prominent family in Tagum City. Every month pumupunta sa clinic niya." Joquiño claimed.

Meanwhile, Joquiño told Sun.Star Davao that Belo Essentials products are available in Davao City supermarkets.

"It is also available in big drugstores in the city like Mercury Drug, Farmacia Sta. Ana, and others. Within this month, we are hoping that our coordination with the Rose Pharmacy will be materialized," he said.

He aid this year, the company is planning to have more television commercials to further market their products and services in Mindanao and in Visayas. Its first commercial was launched last year with Regine Velasquez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Lucy Torres as endorsers.
