THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Southern Mindanao is encouraging government agencies and private companies to further improve their management system.
In an interview Tuesday, Dante Muyco, senior management audit analyst of the DTI Southern Mindanao, told Sun.Star Davao that his agency would help government agencies and private companies to improve their management system in terms of conducting free seminars and trainings on quality management system.
"We will be in the forefront in promoting quality management in the government and private agencies. Anytime there are requests from government and private companies, we help them. We have a pool of trainers who conduct the trainings," Muyco said.
Muyco said DTI-Southern Mindanao will not only promote quality management system in the entire region, but also to other neighboring regions.
He said this step is DTI's part and share of helping the National Government in its vision to realize at least 50 percent of the government agencies in the country to be aligned with ISO by year 2010.
DTI-Southern Mindanao, he said, has also intensified its operation in giving the best services to its clients.
"Lahat ng mga staff namin dito are very particular to the services they give. Our thrust is really to improve our system. Pag ISO certified ka kasi, the expectation of the clients is getting higher," Muyco said.
Recently, DTI-Southern Mindanao was awarded as a pioneer and trailblazer in the delivery of government's basic services as it pushed the limits of excellence in the areas of trade development and promotion, industry development and investment promotion, SME development, consumer welfare protection, and good governance.
It is the first national government agency in the country whose entire management system has been ISO 9001:2000 certified.
