"March 10 was declared Araw ng Buntis through Presidential Proclamation 569," she said.
"Buntis Day is a call for all to mind, be concerned, move and act on the ground to ensure that every pregnancy and birth is safe," Estuart added.
The event included a day of lessons, fellowship, fun, games, and prizes. An open forum or interactive panel discussion was also conducted after a series of presentations about the danger signs of pregnancy.
Tessa Prieto-Valdes, a wife, mother, and celebrity, who was picked by the Department of Health (DOH) as the DOH Breastfeeding Idol ng Bayan, gave an inspirational talk to the participants.
Valdes is an advocate of breastfeeding.
The one-day activity also includes visits to exhibits, a blood pressure screening, and a tetanus toxoid immunization.
The exhibitors of the event were the Metropolitan Pharma, Pharma Nutria, Merck, DKT Philippines Inc., Valeant, Innogen, Multicare Pharmaceuticals Philippines Inc., Biofemme, Bayer Schering, GBF, Sunpharma Inc., and Caltrate.
