City to relocate TFD to cheaper headquarter
By Ben O. Tesiorna

THE City Government of Davao is planning to relocate Task Force Davao (TFD) into a cheaper headquarter even as it maintained the elite security unit will remain in the city despite the huge budget spent for its operation.

In the City Peace and Order Council meeting at the Grand Men Seng Hotel on Monday, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said they are planning to relocate TFD, but he did not say where as nothing is definite yet.

Duterte clarified the rental for the headquarters is not their main concern since it is just a small part of the almost P15 million annual budget of TFD.

He said majority of the budget goes to more than 200 Special Cafgus that have been utilized by TFD.

It was learned that the city is spending P1 million a month for the allowances and salaries of the Scaa's.

Duterte said TFD would stay for as long as President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has no order for its disbandment. (With reports from Peng Aliño)
