The chamber said that since 2000, DCCCII has been working on contributing to two of Davao City Government's development agenda, which are the solid waste management, and the women and child development.

Eight barangays in Toril district will be the beneficiaries of the project, including Bankas Heights, Crossing Bayabas, Daliao, Lizada, Marapangi, Lubogan, Toril Poblacion, and Sirawan.

The project aims to improve the capability of the women in Toril to develop an enterprise out of recyclable waste generated in the district.

It is also initiated to provide alternative livelihood opportunities for the women in the same area, and to increase awareness on the environmental as well as economic benefits and reducing waste.

With the implementation of the project, DCCCII expects that a training and display center of products out of recyclable materials will be set up and a formal organization for women in the area will be created.

The chamber also targets to train 800 women in Toril on recycling in a year.

Also, the chamber will conduct three techno training workshops in a year and capacity building training on leadership, value formation and appreciation of environment, managing a cooperative enterprise, and product development and marketing.

Aside from these, the project is expected to come up to market study results for collecting waste materials safely.

A site visit to a recycling facility to further widen the women's awareness on the environment and value of recycling solid wastes is also an expected output of the chamber through the initiation of the project.
