THE two protagonists have hit town and Las Vegas is abuzz once more with boxing.
Manny Pacquiao, considered the most exciting fighter today who hits like a middleweight, arrived in Sin City from Los Angeles Monday night together with his entourage.
The 29-year-old Pacquiao, the Filipino punching machine from General Santos City, was greeted with wild cheers from adoring supporters and immediately obliged by signing autographs for them the moment he set foot on the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
Juan Manuel Marquez, the World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight champion from Mexico, also hit town with his belt binded on his shoulders.
Marquez, now 34 but claims he still feels young and stronger than ever, was met at the hotel by a mariachi band and even sang with them.
Pacquiao and Marquez will square off in a 12-round super featherweight championship fight on March 15 (March 16 in Manila) for the latter's belt.
There is so much pride at stake in this bout.
Marquez, the last Mexican standing against the Filipino warrior, will be fighting for the whole Mexico and try to prove thata Mexican boxer can beat Pacquiao.
Pacquiao is also fighting for his entire country, and will be carrying some 88 million Filipinos on his shoulders when he enters the ring. (CRAM)
