Free trip to Korea for Tesda graduates

A FREE trip to Korea is now up for grabs for the graduates of the Tesda-maintained Korea-Philippines Training Center (Kor-Phil) in Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City.

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda)-Southern Mindanao information officer Mafel Negrido-Gamale, in Tuesday's interview, said that the trip to Korea would be given as reward for the students who have mastered the Korean language as well as taekwondo.

Gamale said it was Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica) Deputy Resident Representative Joon-Sung Park who gave the go-ahead to the contest during his visit to Davao City last March 7, 2008.

"He directed the two KorPhil-Davao Korean Language trainers to study the possibility of coming up with the contest, the prize of which shall be a trip to Korea," Gamale said.

Gamale said all trainees of KorPhil-Davao's one-year programs are automatically qualified to join the contest.

"The prize might be awarded during the KorPhil-Davao's June 2008 graduation, and might just as well be the most coveted award during the graduation ceremony of the 3rd batch of trainees of KorPhil-Davao's regular programs," she added.

Gamale said Park's offer was prompted by the request of Egmedio Valdez, KorPhil-Davao's OIC center chief, for Koica to possibly grant employment in Korea to deserving KorPhil graduates. (GLP)
