Sabaldan's pa passes away

ROMUALDO "Romy" L. Sabaldan, father of Sun.Star Davao sports columnist Romy Sabaldan, passed away at 3:10 pm. last March 19 at the Davao Doctor's Hospital due to cardiac arrest. He was 81.

Sabaldan had been at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) three times since December of 2007. His remains lay in state at the family residence at 168 Doņa Caridad Village, Km. 11 Sasa, Davao City.

Interment services will be on Wednesday, March 26, starting at 9 a.m., from the family residence at Doņa Caridad Village in Sasa to St. Joseph Church and finally to Forest Lake.

The Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) headed by its president and Sun.Star Davao sports editor Charles Raymond A. Maxey offered its condolences to Romy Sabaldan and his family for the death of his father.

"We join our colleague and brother in Davao sportswriting, Sir Romy, and his family in their hour of grief," Maxey said.
