Monday, March 24, 2008 More rains this week By Carlo P. Mallo
SOUTHERN Mindanao will experience rainy weather this week, as everyone rushes back to the hustle and bustle of a busy workweek. An easterly wave is affecting the region bringing in cold weather, a relief from the scorching heat experienced during the long Holy Week weekend.
According to the weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Adminsitration (Pagasa), rains and thunderstorms will be prevalent in Southern Mindanao and the rest of the island for this week.
Summer in the region may have to come in a little late, as the skies will be gray all week. The rest of the country will be experiencing only partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.
However, coastal waters will be slight to moderate with winds blowing from the east and northeasterly directions.
Temperatures will range from a high of 31 degrees Celsius to a low of 23 degrees Celsius. Humidity in Southern Mindanao will peak at a high of 84 percent shortly before daybreak and will subside to a low of 62 percent early in the afternoon.
