Lagman of Davao City was upset by vacationing Filipino-American-German beauty Jacqueline Chalas, 2-6, 3-6, in the girls' 18-under quarterfinals encounter.
Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional vice-president Juanito Cansino Jr. said Chalas joined the tournament to earn Philta ranking points.
"She wanted to enter the RP team but Philta told her to earn needed points first)," Cansino said in an interview with Sun.Star Davao Monday.
No. 4 Cindy Gerapusco of Polomolok, South Cotabato arranged a semis battle against No. 2 Eloisa Collo of Digos after beating their foes.
Gerapusco whipped Karla Cansino, 6-3, 6-0, while Collo turned back Zaritha Sta. Cruz, 6-2, 6-0, in the Dynamic Sports Corporation-sponsored netfest.
