THE Marco Polo Hotel posted an average of 70 percent occupancy rate for the first quarter of 2008. The hotel was also aggressive in putting more features and amenities, including a P50 million upgrading of its pool area.
This was revealed by Art Boncato, director for sales and management of Marco Polo Hotel, in Tuesday's Kapehan at SM City Davao's Pizza Hut Restaurant.
"We are also preparing for a new market with the addition of new flights to and from the city to Singapore and Hong Kong," Boncato said.
Boncato added that they are feeling very positive about the market in Davao City.
Last Friday, the hotel opened its latest addition to its first class amenities, the Lazuli Spa. The spa is located on the newly renovated fourth level of the hotel, dubbed as The Deck.
"The spa completed The Deck, with the Polo Bistro Pool Lounge, the Sarangani Function Room, and the Fitness Center," Boncato said.
The director for sales and marketing also added that the entire cost for the renovation of the fourth level of the hotel was around P50 million.
"We will also be expanding the hotel in the near future," Boncato added. This will mean more rooms and meeting places.
