Monday, April 07, 2008 2 more sued for illegal drugs
THE City Prosecution Office charged two men accused of possessing and selling methamphetamine hydrochloride, otherwise known as shabu, at Barangay 31-D in Quezon Boulevard, Davao City last month.
Charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were Christopher Pamplona Alpuerto, 32, and Alexander Alpuerto Evardone, 29, both residents of Purok Sto. Niño in Barangay Leon Garcia in Agdao, Davao City.
Prosecutor Shahruddin Roberto Sencio Jr. recommended the filing of charges based on the complaint of barangay councilor Joel Lomod Landero.
Landero said he was in a foot patrol with other councilmen at around 4:30 p.m. of March 30 when they chanced on Evardone handing over a suspicious-looking sachet to Alpuerto.
They arrested the two and turned them over to the Sta. Ana police.
Sencio recommended a bailbond of P200,000 for Alpuerto's temporary liberty and no bail for Evardone. (RMH)
