Tuesday, April 08, 2008 Chua edges Eduilan to win crown
EDWIN Chua beat Alan Edulan twice in the finals to pocket the Datba March Monthly Finals at the NCCC Mall B3 Lanes over the weekend.
Chua hit 186 pinfalls as against number 1 Edulan's 160 in the first game then he followed it up with a 198-172 win in the second game of the step-the-ladder championship round.
Marc Fernandez lost to Chua, 175-192, to place third while former Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) president Billy Magdale placed fourth after bowing to Fernandez, 165-242, in the quarterfinals.
Edulan gained the twice-to-beat advantage after scoring a total of 1,449 pinfalls in the eight-game elimination series while Fernandez was second with 1,380.
In the Datba Weekly Tenpin Tournament, meanwhile, Ralph Martin stamped his class with 884 pinfalls. Tans Bernas placed second with 798, Gary Snyder (784) third, Ram Tancontian (772) fourth, and lawyer Boy Risonar (767) fifth.
The Datba fun game resumes Tuesday at the B3 Lanes while the weekly qualifying will get back into action on Saturday evening. (MLSA)
