Wednesday, April 09, 2008 Paolo to sponsor Abante Grande mountain bikefest
DAVAO City Councilor Paolo Duterte is sponsoring the Abante Grande Mountain Bike Challenge that hits the road on April 29 as highlight of the Catalunan Grande Festival.
PhilCycling Davao chief Salvador Paholio Jr. bared this to Sun.Star Davao Monday.
"It will be a cross country MTB race featuring the open elite, junior 23 years old under, senior 24-34 years old, masters 35-above and ladies open categories," Paholio said.
He said the open elite champion will pocket P2,500, while the runner-up will receive P1,500 and third placer will go home with P1,000.
"The top three riders in juniors, seniors, masters and ladies events will get P2,000, P1,000 and P500. The prizes will be awarded immediately after the race," Paholio said.
The race is organized by Samahang Siklista Kooperatiba ng Dabaw (SSikad) in coordination with the Barangay Council of Catalunan Grande in cooperation with Karancho Catalunan Grande Chapter and Davao City Sports Council Inc.
