JOJO Sta. Maria and Nonoy Baluyot reaped top honors in the SBC Bowler of the Week Tournament at the Fairlanes Bowling Center.
Sta. Maria hit 261 pinfalls after two games to emerge champion in class A. He beat Vic Pusod (251) and Plutie Banlasan (244), who placed second and third, respectively.
Baluyot topped class B by rolling 249 pins over Amie Salvador's 240 and Federation of Duckpin Bowlers of the Philippines (Fedbop) regional coordinator Emie Orteza's 229.
Onyot Morales, meanwhile, copped the class C title with 249 pinfalls while Teddy Casino took the runner-up honors with 213 and Kevin Dumlao was third with 207.
Nora Magtajas, who struck 195, ruled the ladies event while Mercy del Mar came in close second with 194 and Naty Amorillo third with 192.
Cash prizes were awarded to the winners of the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC)-organized event that serves as qualifying tournament for the monthly finals.
The weekly tournament will resume on Sunday at the Fairlanes. (MLSA)
