Friday, April 11, 2008 Theft suspect sued By Rhodamae M. Hernandez
POLICE authorities filed qualified theft charges against a man accused of stealing money inside a bakeshop on San Pedro Street, Davao City this month.
The suspect, identified as Arnold Audan, 31, of Agdao, was charged based on the affidavit executed by Dolores Caseñas, 42, an employee of Julie's Bakeshop.
In an affidavit, Caseñas said the suspect was their regular employee as a delivery man for three years and tasked as reliever cashier assigned to any of their outlet.
She said that at around 5:20 a.m. on April 8, she was informed by the San Pedro branch cashier that the money placed inside their vault amounting to P14,850 was missing.
She claimed that when she was able to talk to the other employees of the establishment, she found out that the suspect borrowed the vault's key before the incident.
She said that when she confronted the suspect, the latter admitted to the crime and told her he kept the cash in his house.
She said she brought the suspect to the San Pedro police, thus the recovery of the money and the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect is now detained at the San Pedro police station detention cell.
