Elusive at first, Monton's aspiration became a reality when he took the plunge and opened Majenta Salun with partner Ma. Elena D. Dublan at the second level of Victoria Plaza last December 2007.
Majenta Salun blitzed into the hairstyle arena with a rare high profile hair fashion show last December 6 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel followed by a grand opening of the saloon last December 8.
Monton believes attaining global standards in his craft is a life-long learning curve, thus he has undergone much training here and abroad.
He trained with Winnie Lou and Celia Tam of Cut Above Academy. Tam is the craft's world master in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. He also trained with Dennis Delgado in HongKong. Delgado caters to celebrities. He was with the renowned Yashiso Tauka, in Tokyo, Japan as well.
His staff members are beneficiaries of his regular in-house lecture in Majenta Salun's Training Center housed in Prime Land building at the Crooked Road, P. Reyes, which is the first of its kind in Mindanao.
Boyet Lazaro, Stelman Ray V. Rojas and Rico Arcelo comprise Alex Monton's creative team helping him oversee daily operations.
As the saloon business is very competitive, Monton joins national and international contests to make his presence known.
His track records for winning top spots in the FilHair Cooperative National Competition and Asia Pacific Cosmetologists Hair Association at the PICC, Metro Manila and Hair Asia Competition, World Center, Roxas Boulevard, Manila, speak highly of his skills.
Majenta Salun uses only world's leading products such as Wella, Shiseido, Face Shop Mac, Max Factor, Maybelline. The salon is also an exclusive distributor of TIGI Bed Head and Davines.
